Testimony Before Detroit City Council

TRU’s Assistant Director Ruth Johnson was asked to present an update on Detroit transit before the Detroit City Council’s Public Health and Safety Committee Monday, January 26 at 10:00am. DDOT logo (new)

We presented an honest evaluation of DDOT progress under Mayor Duggan and Director Dan Dirks, rating their results to date a “C-.” On the plus side, the mayor has made transit a priority and Dan Dirks is working hard to undo decades of underfunding and mismanagement. Yet riders are not yet feeling on-the-ground improvement. It is outrageous that so many buses are late or never arrive!
