Candidates Come Out Strong for Transit at Mayoral Forum

This Wednesday, TRU and our allies hosted our first-ever Detroit Mayoral Forum on Public Transit. Over 150 people attended in person or online, sending a strong message that improving transit must be a priority for the next mayoral administration.

7 of the 9 candidates on the ballot joined us at the forum. While they differed on specifics, all candidates said that they’d strive to improve public transit as mayor, with many affirming their support for the goals of “doubling DDOT” and better compensating bus drivers.
