Transit Voices: Tonya Chesterfield, by Bridge Detroit

In Detroit, transportation isn’t a privilege – it’s a necessity for basic living. For Tonya Christerfield, it’s a lifeline to her loved ones. She utilizes DDOT’s paratransit service, which just recently began same day pickups in June.

“It’s more comfortable for the people, more comfortable for myself,” said Christerfield, who is visually impaired due to a brain tumor.
