T4American urges Congress to help DDOT, SMART and othe transit agencies with budget troubles

SMART, DDOT and hundreds of other transit agencies across the country are struggling with massive budget problems.   When transit agencies suspend service, hike rates, and lay off workers, the ability of millions of Americans to get where they need to go each day is threatened.
In St. Louis, the signs are already up at bus stops: "We regret due to lack of funding service to this bus stop is suspended."
And they’re not alone – nearly 100 other cities and towns are facing the same problems.

Our partners at Transportation For America are seeking help for these local communities to manage this crisis and urge you to tell your members of Congress to support transit service preservation grants TODAY.

When transit agencies are in a financial crisis, every apparent solution – cutting service, raising fares, and laying off employees – just deepens the crisis for everyone.
But we can help communities and families weather this crisis with support from the federal government.
Thank you for your continued support and your action today. We can’t do this without you.
