A huge thank you to everyone who came out to Wednesday’s Get Motown Moving event and made it a great success!!
What a night! Over 125 people participated, enjoying:
- informative presentations, tours, and displays,
- a sneak peak at SMART’s new articulated hybrid bus and the People Mover’s control center,
- great bargains on fabulous items at our silent auction,
- tasty treats from area restaurants and caterers, and
- a nice reception in the beautiful and historic Guardian Building / Rowland Cafe!
It would not have been possible without our amazing volunteers. Please help thank:
- Meagan Costea for the great design work
- Al Frank from Urban Press and our friends at Parsons Brinkerhoff for the printing
- Nancy Wiggers, Frank Zebot, and Larry Hands at registration
- Pat Linklater, Barbara Stevenson, and Karen Kendrick-Hands for the silent auction

- TRU’s Assistant Director Ruth Johnson, Secretary Mike Whims, Ericka Alexander from the Detroit People Mover, and the other dedicated behind-the-scenes helpers,
- As well as photographer David Watkins, MC Kevin Smith, Kelly Logan, Mike Tasse, Deena Fox and other for their willingness to jump in and help wherever needed!
