New coalition works to transform transportation policy in Michigan

TRU is pleased to be a leader of an exciting new coalition: Trans4M.

Fifteen diverse organizations from across Michigan have come together to transform transportation policy in Michigan.  We are sick of decades of highway-exclusive transportation funding that spurs sprawl, neglects urban areas, increases pollution, and wastes fuel, time, and money of million of Michiganders.

Our goal is to make Michigan communities more livable and our economy more robust through transportation policy reform. We envision a connected, convenient system linking more frequent, reliable and affordable passenger rail and public transit, as well as complete streets to facilitate walking and biking options. We seek to prioritize the upkeep of existing roads and bridges.
