People Mover service partially restored

According to the Detroit Free Press

The People Mover began moving people again Friday evening after being shut down for much of the week.

But the People Mover isn’t running its regular loop. The train is in shuttle mode, with two trains traveling back and forth from the Times Square and Broadway stations. The transfer point is the Millender Center station.  (Route details at the People Mover website)

Officials say it’s not yet known when the People Mover will resume its normal service.

Bricks from the 18-story David Whitney Building gave way during a brief but fierce thunderstorm Monday afternoon.  The bricks did only minor damage to the Grand Circus Park station and didn’t hit the People Mover’s track or cars.
