As of 3pm on Friday, July 22, the People Mover has returned to normal loop operations. Four train cars will travel in their normal clockwise loop around downtown, arriving at stations roughly every 5 minutes.
For about a week, the People Mover ran two-train shuttles after bricks from the 18-story David Whitney Building gave way during a brief but fierce thunderstorm Monday afternoon. The bricks did only minor damage to the Grand Circus Park station and didn’t hit the People Mover’s track or cars.
