Next month, Governor Rick Snyder will be announcing his top transportation and infrastructure priorities in a major speech to the state legislature.
I met last week with the Governor’s special adviser on regional transit Dennis Schornack, who shared that the Governor is inclined to support regional transit but needs to hear that it is something the people and businesses of Michigan really want!
Help us convince Governor Snyder to make transit a top priority – Sign our petition:
"Michigan needs more and better public transit!
Please make transit a top priority, including:
1) Fully fund public transit;
2) Create a Detroit Regional Transit Authority; and
3) Provide new voter-approved options for cities to fund transit."
Then ask your friends to do the same!
Also, we want to show him that business care about transit too, as a way to revitalize our economy. Are you a business owner who cares about transit? Or do you know businesses or business organizations who do?
Read and sign onto our business letter to the Governor!
Given the governor’s business-focus, we need to demonstrate broad business support by getting over 100 businesses signed onto a letter to the governor. Thanks for your help!!
