Any doubt that southeast Michigan needs and wants an official Regional Transit Authority is being quickly swept away!
Nearly all of the major elected bodies in the region have recently passed (or are about to pass) resolutions in support of creating a Regional Transit Authority!
- The Macomb County Commission passed a resolution unanimously last month.
- The Oakland County Commission passed a resolution last week with strong bi-partisan support.
- The Washtenaw County Commission passed one last week too.
- The Detroit City Council passed a resolution yesterday.
- And the Wayne and St. Clair County Commissions are expected to pass resolutions of support soon too.
This Friday, these commissioners and council members will meet at the SE Michigan Regional Summit to discuss the importance of Regional Transit and call on the Governor and Legislature to take action soon!
