More DDOT Cuts!?!?!

It’s deja vu all over again.  Before even getting new schedules printed from the last round of cuts, DDOT is planning even more service cuts!!  While no routes are proposed for elimination, the wait times between many buses will double!!
Here’s the word from DDOT

The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will hold morning and evening public hearings (same date/two locations) on Thursday, April 5, 2012 to announce proposed service changes at the following locations:

Wayne County Community College District (at I-94)

DDOT logo5901 Conner St., Detroit

 Morning: 10 a.m. to 12 Noon

 Evening: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Northwest Activities Center

18100 Meyers Rd., Detroit

Morning: 10 a.m. to 12 Noon

Evening: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The proposed changes consist of time-period adjustments only and do not entail any bus route eliminations. Strategical methods used in planning the proposed changes are designed to enhance efficiency to bus service, as passengers’ time periods at bus stops will be significantly reduced.  Please see attached graphics which provide details and at-a-glance views of proposed service changes for weekdays, Saturday and Sunday.

DDOT’s goal is to keep our communities well informed with transit-related information. Please do not hesitate in letting us know when questions, suggestions or comments surface by calling (313) 933-1300. We will be very pleased to address all of them.  Thanks again for being a valued customer.
