
DDOT Still Failing to Provide Adequate Bus Service
TRU’s Report Card and Recommendations on
DDOT Bus On-Time Performance and Service
Today, TRU released our second Report Card with DDOT earning a D- for timeliness, along with a Report Summary and Faces of Transit (print and video).


Despite many promises from the Bing administration to dramatically improve service, DDOT bus on-time performance is still unreliable and the amount of service DDOT provides is insufficient to meet riders’ needs. These are significant problems not only for the riders who depend on buses to get them to the work, school, and other activities. Poor bus service is a problem for the entire City and region. Without improved bus service, Detroiters and our community will have difficulty regaining their financial stability. DDOT and Mayor Bing must provide good bus service no matter what.
Sadly, the initial unofficial response from the mayor’s office was laughing surprise that their grade wasn’t even worse. As they debate gutting another $10 million from DDOT’s budget, help us remind them that transit is no laughing matter! Use this link to:
