Detroit media on Regional Transit Authority

Much of the media understands the vital need for a Regional Transit Authority:

"How can we expect any business investor to take this region seriously?  Once again, political interests are put ahead of public interest in the quest for improved transit for Southeast Michigan. . . .
(It’s time to) hash it out so this region moves forward with true, regional transit.
"

"Bills before the state House creating a regional transit authority are essential for developing transit in southeast Michigan and positioning metro Detroit to compete for hundreds of millions of dollars in federal transportation dollars. . . .
(It’s time for the Big Four to) drop their petty carping and get behind a planned regional transit authority. Without it, southeast Michigan will keep its place at the back of the bus, while watching federal transit dollars continue to flow to other regions that have learned to ride together.
