As you may know, an RTA would finally bring southeast Michigan together to create a modern regional transit system like every other major city has. This could enable billions in federal funding to build rapid transit, improve bus service, create jobs, and help revitalize Detroit.
Yet the bills have stalled in the Michigan House. While officials from Detroit and Oakland County replay decades-old turf fights, real progress on public transit in greater Detroit is on the line.
