You won’t want to miss TRU’s fall meeting – Monday, Sept 21, at 6:30pm at the Northwest Activity Center.
The topic – long-term transit funding!
DDOT cuts and SMART fare increases make it crystal clear that our current funding situation doesn’t work! We need more money for transit in the short term and a dedicated regional funding source to provide sufficient funding in the long term.
SEMCOG Transportation Director Carmine Palombo will be there to discuss their long-range transportation plan and the insufficient funding the region provides for transportation. He’ll also take questions. TRU Director Megan Owens also present other major transit funding issues and lead a discussion on how we can make sure the region gets the transit funding we need!
Note – due to Guardian Building construction, our meeting will be at a new location! The NW Activity Center is at 18100 Meyers in northwest Detroit, just off the Lodge, at the corner of Curtis, between 6 and 7 Mile Roads. The Dexter bus (#16) goes right there and several others buses travel nearby. There is also a fenced parking lot behind the building.
Don’t miss it!
