Yesterday, Michiganders all across the state had chances to vote on transit taxes in their local communities. And they spoke out loud and clear – voicing strong support for public transit.
Of the 28 millage votes throughout Michigan – ALL PASSED! Most with overwhelming support!
- In Oakland County, the SMART Millage was renewed with 79% of the vote!!
- In Ingham County, the CATA millage was increased with 73% voting yes.
- In Saugatuck and Douglas, 83% voted to renew their millage!
- In Jackson, their transportation millage was renewed with 77% of the vote.
- The City of Durand passed a new millage with 63% voting yes.

The only down side? They are all property tax millages because the Michigan legislature won’t give us any other options for funding public transit locally.
