Film: "The New Metropolis" chronicles the implications of suburban migration

On Thursday, September 15, from 6pm-9pm, the Emagine Theater in Royal Oak (200 N. Main St.) will screen Andrea Torrice’s film, "The New Metropolis."

This compelling documentary explores the challenges of America’s aging suburbs and points towards solutions for their revitalization.

Following the screening, a community dialogue has been organized.  The panel will feature Andrea Torrice, Dr. John Powell – Exec. Director of the Kirwan Institute for Race and Ethnicity from Ohio State University, Rep. Jim Townsend, Rev. John Hice, and the mayor of Hamtramck, Dr. Karen Majewski. 

Entry to the film is free and a light dinner will be provided.
