TRU Intern Positions – Winter/Spring 2011
- Political Outreach Intern
- Ensure that public officials learn about the importance of public transit by developing an up-to-date listing of public officials, managing correspondence with them, and helping coordinate a transit legislative outreach day
- Senior Mobility Outreach Intern
- Support the Senior Mobility Outreach Project in coordinating events, conducting senior surveys, and advocating for improved senior mobility in four Detroit area communities
- Design & Marketing Intern
- Did you know that Greater Detroit has an official transit plan? Few people do and we need a creative intern to design attractive marketing materials to promote the plan and build broad public support.
- Social Media / Web Intern
- Improve TRU’s website and utilize Facebook, YouTube, and other social media to better educate and engage people about Detroit transit
- Faces of Transit Intern / Story Teller
- Improve support for transit by telling the tales of transit riders and supporters through videos, pictures, and personal stories
- Detroit Transit Advocacy Historian/Intern
- Develop a historic narrative of TRU and Detroit transit advocacy to improve understanding of modern work to improve transit
