Despite cutting nearly half of its bus service over the past six years and completely failing to provide the service currently scheduled, DDOT is again planning even more cut even more bus service!
Starting this Saturday (March 3):
- Most routes will stop operating after 9pm
- All service between 1am and 4am will be eliminated,
- Wait times between buses will be increased
- The Imperial Limited route 78 will be eliminated completely
- Clairmont will stop weekend operation
Visit the DDOT website for complete weekend and weekday service cuts (note – if not listed, there is no change in service).
Bus riders are understandably outraged. As Fox 2 News reported, DDOT held four "public hearings," staffed by paid court reporters typing up people’s comments, but few DDOT staff or Bing officials attended.
As one rider ranted: "We get employers who are saying unless you have reliable transportation, don’t apply for this job. Well, [how] the hell [are] you going to get reliable transportation out of DDOT and DDOT [wants] to cut even the sorry service that they have!"
