Nationally 77% of 2010 transit ballot measures pass!

According to our friends at Center for Transportation Excellence:

Last year was an incredibly successful year for transportation ballot measures. Communities around the country placed 57 measures on the ballot and voters supported 44 of them. The 77% success rate for 2010 is above the ten-year average of 71%, and particularly significant in a year marked by pervasive anti-tax sentiment at the ballot box.

Voters made it clear that they feel strongly about investing in transportation. The election results also confirmed a continuing trend towards locals picking up a greater share of the financing burden, as state and federal funding remains largely stagnant or decreasing.
