Formally these are part of the Woodward Avenue Transit Alternatives Analysis (AA), a comprehensive study designed to assess regional transportation needs and, most specifically, transit options for the 27-mile Woodward Avenue corridor from the Detroit River north to Pontiac. SEMCOG is working closely with communities along the corridor on this project, funded by a $2 million federal transportation grant, and scheduled for completion in 2014.
The purpose of these meetings is to discuss what transit along Woodward Avenue might look like in the near future, and to gather input from the public on possible transit options. Area residents, business owners and local government, agency, and community leaders are all invited and encouraged to attend.
