Have you seen the Regional Transit Plan?
(available for pdf download online) It was approved in December as the official plan for what and where transit will be improved and expanded throughout the tri-county area.
It includes improvements in bus service and coordination, new “Arterial-Rapid Transit” express bus service, Woodward light rail and Detroit-Ann Arbor train service by 2011 and expanded rapid transit as demand and funding allows.
It’s still just a plan, until the region’s leaders agree upon a Regional Transit Authority to implement it and a dedicated funding source to fund it. Join our e-newsletter and stay tuned for updates!
