RTA Provides Detailed Info on Area Transit Service

As a part of their role in overseeing, coordinating, and improving public transit throughout southeast Michigan, the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has compiled and posted a great deal of information about our region’s transit.

As part of preparing to develop a Regional Transit Master Plan, the RTA developed a State of the System report. It provides detailed information on:

  • The existing transit system – where it goes and does not go, strengths and weaknesses, etc
  • Where people go on a daily basis
  • Where transit needs are not currently being met; and
  • What parts of southeast Michigan are likely to support transit in the future.

One warning – there is a LOT of information and it can be overwhelming. Check out the 13 page Executive Summary before you tackle the 172 page full report!

If you poke around, you’ll find a ton of useful information on the RTA website – www.RTAmichigan.org – so check it out!
