SMART is expanding in Wayne County next year.
Now that Wayne countywide transit expansion has passed, SMART is implementing new and modified bus service! SMART proposed various new services, but it will take multiple years for every service change to be implemented. However, we have the first round of service changes for next year, and you can give input on these changes!
Three new routes in Wayne County
New routes will include 120 Fort Street, 290 Newburgh, and 295 Plymouth. 120 will serve limited stops from downtown Detroit to Outer Drive, then local stops all the way to Flat Rock going through Downriver. The 290 will mainly serve Newburgh Rd in Farmington, Livonia, Westland, and Wayne. Finally, the 295 Plymouth connects Plymouth, Canton, and Livonia with Redford and northwest Detroit.
Modified routes
Modifications include the 160 Downriver, 200 Michigan Local, 210 Michigan Local-Westland, 250 Ford Road, 255 Ford Road Express; which will all have route extensions in Wayne County. Outside of Wayne County, 525 Groesbeck is extended and will have Saturday service, and 780 Fifteen Mile Crosstown will gain Sunday service.
