Important reminder – In September, the SMART Board of Directors voted to increase some bus fares as a way to minimize any cuts in service and address decreasing revenues due to the local economy (see the press release for details). Those fare increases go into effect today!

So starting today (December 1):
- Regular bus fares on SMART buses have increased to $2.00 (from $1.50)
- Riding a SMART bus with a regional pass now requires an additional 50-cents or supplemental fare card
- Riding a SMART bus with a DDOT transfer now requires and additional 50-cents
However:
- Special fares for seniors, students, and people with disabilities have not changed
- DDOT fares have not changed
