State transit funding still undecided

Just two days from the start of the 2010 fiscal year, and the state still has no budget.  Republican leaders are still trying to balance everything by cutting into the bone of state funding, including transit!!
Don't cut the buses!
State Rep. Lee Gonzales, chair of the conference committee, is holding firm on not gutting transit.  We need to convince his counterpart, Senator Bill Hardiman, to support this stance for transit.

callIt’s not too late to help defend transit!!  If you haven’t yet, please make these 3 phone calls TODAY!

1) Call Sen. Hardiman at 517-373-1801.

2) Call Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop at 517-373-2417.

3)Call House Speaker Andy Dillon at 517-373-0857.

Tell these key leaders that we need to keep the buses and trains rolling.  Urge them not to transfer any money from the CTF to the general fund.

On a roll?  Ready for more?  Then call your legislators and ask them to urge their leadership to defend transit funding!  Finally, send a thank you message to Rep. Gonzales at [email protected].

With your help, and the courage of Rep. Lee Gonzales, we just might preserve transit funding this year!

And thanks!
