Transportation Civic Academy Gives You the Tools to Fight for Your Community
This year’s Transportation Civic Academy is a FREE education series on transportation politics and policy. Over 10 session you will learn about various aspects of transportation planning, hear from guest speakers with local and national expertise, and have the opportunity to propose solutions to local transportation problems. Applications are due by November 30th, so apply today!
Everyone Should Apply!
It’s open to everyone with a special interest in transit:
Community leaders, educators, civic officials, transit advocates and other change makers, who are eager to make meaningful change and share what they learn!
Community members will come away from the Academy with skills and knowledge to advocate for safe and accessible transportation networks that work for everyone. Learn through in-depth discussions, presentations, projects, and more!
Sessions from January to April
There will be sessions in various weeks from January 13 to April 21. They will be every Wednesday EXCEPT 2/10, 2/24, 3/10, 3/17, and 3/31. Each session will be from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
All sessions will take place on Zoom. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including paratransit, biking/walking, state policy, land use, and climate issues. In the past, we’ve had various guest speakers as well, which you can expect again. All participants will also have a final project we’ll work on and present, showcasing what was learned and how we can use our skills in our communities.
“All of the sessions were highly informative, particularly as someone who is both new to and not formally engaged in transportation and mobility issues.”
