Detroit In Transit: TRU’s 2011 Fundraising dinner!
You won’t want to miss an intriguing and thought-provoking discussion with Channel 7 WXYZ’s Chuck Stokes on the role that transit can play in encouraging economic growth and restoring Detroit’s vitality.
He will be joined by a diverse group of expert panelists:
* Kurt Metzger, Director of Data Driven Detroit, with powerful data on population trends and preferences in our region compared to competing metropolitan areas;
* Triette Reeves, former legislator and current consultant with the Woodward Light Rail project, who will share both her vision and official plans for utilizing transit to revitalize the Woodward corridor;
* Andrew Baisile, an impassioned local attorney who believes sprawl and lack of transit are major reasons he can’t fill six-figure job openings; and
* Rick Chapla, VP of The Right Place, the economic development agency in Grand Rapids, with a statewide perspective and experience.
