It’s open to everyone with a special interest in transit:
Community leaders, educators, civic officials, transit advocates and other change makers. who are eager to make meaningful change and share what they learn!
Community members will come away from the Academy with skills and knowledge to advocate for safe and accessible transportation networks that work for everyone. Learn through in-depth discussions, presentations, projects, and more!
What
This year’s Transportation Civic Academy is a FREE education series on transportation politics and policy. Over seven weeks you will learn about various aspects of transportation planning, hear from guest speakers with local and national expertise, and have the opportunity to propose solutions to local transportation problems.
When
From October 28th to December 16th, every Wednesday from 6:00-7:30pm Applications close October 15th!
All sessions will take place on Zoom. Last year, we featured speakers from local and national groups ranging from Transportation for America to the Detroit Greenways Coalition.
“All of the sessions were highly informative, particularly as someone who is both new to and not formally engaged in transportation and mobility issues.”
