We want to hear from YOU!

Schetron Collier, stating why transit matters to him because it is a life line to our community.

Throughout Detroit and Michigan, the voices of people who don’t drive are too often not heard from. If you don’t drive in the Detroit area, your voice matters. So we want to hear your transit voice!

Our leaders don’t hear us enough, especially as meetings can be inaccessible by transit or inconvenient to get to. We want to make sure our leaders hear from you. Whether you don’t drive, can’t drive, occasionally drive but wish you didn’t have to, or just care for transit due to the litany of benefits it provides, share your voice with TRU!

We’re trying to get as many transit voices as possible. We don’t care if you have one sentence or one hundred, we’d love for you to write it down. Alternatively, let us know if you’d rather us give you a call, and we can write down your story from an interview, or do a video. We’d appreciate it if we could publish your story as well, so that our leaders recognize the experience bus riders have.

Share your transit experiences or thoughts with TRU!

And for TRU members… write a member column!

Additionally, we’re calling on TRU members: If you have a topic or issue that you’re passionate about related to transit, write a member column! We’ll publish your story and share it out. Think of this like an op-ed in the newspaper. It can be an experience you’ve had, a topic you want to educate people about, or an issue related to transit that you think is important, or anything else! Reach out to [email protected] to sort out details. Feel free to send Theresa an intro about you and a draft, or talk to her about what you want to write about!
