Detroit City Budget Hearing & Double DDOT Rally
Join TRU, Detroit Disability Power, Detroit People’s Platform, the ATU, and dozens of allies in the City to mobilize for more and better buses! Mayor Sheffield’s proposed budget will result in a $29M increase for DDOT, ahead of last years $30M increase! This won’t get us all the way to “doubling DDOT” this year, but it’s a huge step in the right direction. But let’s remind Council of the progress we still need to make, and that we need to see these improvements on the ground.
Join us Monday, March 30th at 4pm at the Spirit of Detroit Plaza for a ‘Double DDOT’ rally! The Plaza is located in front of Coleman A. Young Municipal Center (CAYMAC) (2 Woodward Ave, Detroit MI), on Woodward between Larned and Jefferson. At 5pm, the budget hearing will begin, and we’ll head up to the 13th floor of CAYMAC to give public comment during the hearing. To get to the 13th floor, we’ll have to go through light security, including a metal detector.
