TRU and our friends at the Michigan Association of Rail Passengers are hosting a joint meeting Saturday November 16 to explore how trains and buses align and how we can fight together for a complete transportation system in Michigan. Join us!
When: Saturday, November 16, 2-4pm
Where: Dearborn Transit Center / Amtrak Station, 21201 Michigan Ave
Who: Leaders and members of Transportation Riders United (TRU) and Michigan Association of Rail Passengers (MARP)
What: A joint meeting for members of TRU and MARP and anyone else interested in improving buses, trains, and other public transportation options
MARP and TRU each have decades of experience and hundreds of members dedicated to advocating for more and better trains and transit respectively. At this event, you can learn more about each organization, get an overview of rail and transit issues in Michigan, and join the conversation about how we can work together to have a greater impact on creating a complete transportation system for Michigan.
It will be hosted at the Dearborn Transit Center, which can be accessed by:
- The Amtrak Wolverine eastbound line – scheduled to arrive at 1:30pm
- Regional SMART buses
- Detroit DDOT buses
- by bike
- or driving – free parking available
This is a public meeting – everyone is welcome.
Light refreshments will be offered before and after the meeting, so please make sure to RSVP so we know how much to bring!
There is no cost to attend, although donations to TRU and/or MARP are greatly appreciated!
