As absentee ballots begin hitting mailboxes around Detroit, TRU and our allies present the results of our candidate questionnaire on public transit issues. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, TRU does not endorse candidates, but we believe it’s important to provide the public with an understanding of their stances on transit.
The 9-question questionnaire was emailed to all mayoral and City Council candidates who provided an e-mail in their filings. Not every candidate responded, but the document below features all the responses from those who did. It’s a long document, but the table of contents will point you in the right direction.
TRU also continues to conduct bus ride-alongs with candidates for City Council to educate them about DDOT bus service and what can be done to improve it. We have now completed ride-alongs for all nine candidates for Mayor, and you can watch our June 3 mayoral forum at this link.
