RTA accepting applications for Citizens’ Advisory Committee

The RTA is accepting applications for the Citizens’ Advisory Committee now through Nov 17.

“The purpose of the CAC is to advise the RTA on transit issues, make suggestions for improvements in transit service, and advocate for greater funding for public transportation.”

To ensure diversity and meet statutory requirements, the CAC is especially seeking residents of Macomb County, users of public transportation, senior citizens and people with disabilities, and individuals representing business, labor, community, and faith-based organizations.

A big win for SMART bus service and transit investment

Voters provided a huge win for the SMART millage! The SMART millage increase passed with very strong support:
– Oakland – 73.6% support
– Wayne – 63.1% support
– Macomb – 59.6% support

Urge County Leaders to Keep SMART Rolling!

SMART provides essential transit service to 35,000 people every day. Yet their millage rate hasn’t increased in nearly 12 years, resulting in minimal service and ancient buses.
